Butler Beach is a neighborhood of mostly single family homes located on Anastasia Island south of St Augustine Beach and east of A1A. Rich in history, Butler Beach is named after local business man Frank Butler, who in the 1920’s helped establish Butler Beach as one of NE Florida’s few “Blacks Only” beaches. Of course, today Butler Beach is enjoyed by everyone, tourists and locals alike.
In addition to ocean front homes, the neighborhood features natural sand dunes which afford many of the homes ocean views. At the end of every east/west running street a pedestrian public beach access featuring a walking path or a dune walk over. The beaches here are some of the widest in St Johns County. Butler Beach affords the best of island living, but it is only a 10 minute drive to the Bridge of Lions and downtown St Augustine. Homes in this neighborhood present an eclectic mix of beach cottages built in the 1950’s and contemporary custom built homes. Home prices can range from $200,000 to over $1 million. Butler Beach is one of Anastasia Island’s most unique and desirable neighborhoods.
